Each wooden base is made with reclaimed wood from either discarded pallets or wood I’ve rescued from being trashed. The wood has been sufficiently cleaned so it is smooth to the touch but it still retains its rustic and/or vintage characteristics. The wood will usually be between 0.75-1 inches thick, but it may be thicker depending on wood used and/or if the base needs to be heavier to hold the flowers upright. Finally the bases are treated with cutting board oil that highlights the wood grain and protects the wood from damage.
Stems - A wood stem or a vintage auger bit stem is screwed into the wood. If a rebar stem, then a hole is drilled in the wood and the stem is secured to the wood with JB Weld epoxy. While the photos show flowers with stems, you can just order flowers and a wooden base and I can affix the flowers directly to the base.
Size - Unless you submit a custom request, I will determine the size of the base by the number of flowers and their weight. For example:
If you want one, small, light flower, then the wooden base will be about 3 inches length and width.
Comparatively, if you want three, tall, heavy flowers, then the base will be closer to a 15 inches by 10 inches.
The wooden base photos show examples of sizes alongside the flowers and stems so you can see approximately what size base you will receive (unless you request a custom size).
Below you can choose the shape and approximate color of the wooden base. Here are the options:
