Hexagon Wood Stems - Metal Flowers Series
These hexagon wood stems are cut from wood that I’ve saved from the trash, and thus sometimes the stems are made from softwood and sometimes hardwood. I create the hexagon rods by first cutting square rods using a table saw with a blade at 90 degrees and then I rotate the blade to be 45 degrees to cut off the corners so to make the hexagon shape. Next I cut the rods to size and at an angle using a miter saw and then the stems are sanded. Finally the stems are treated with cutting board oil that highlights the wood grain and protects the wood from damage. You will receive a stem that is substantially similar to the stems in the photos.
Below you can choose the size of the hexagon wood stem:
Small: L: 6 in.; W: 1.5 in.; D: 1.5 in.
Large: L: 11.5 in.; W: 1.5 in.; D: 1.5 in.
These hexagon wood stems are part of Lawless Upcycling’s Metal Flowers series (juxtaposition of hard, man-made metal used to emulate a soft, natural flower). Check out the “Shop” for flower options and other versions of stems and/or wooden bases. THIS ORDER ONLY INCLUDES THE STEM. YOU NEED TO SEPARATELY ORDER A FLOWER AND/OR WOODEN BASE.
If you want to customize any aspect of the hexagon wood stem, please select the option that is closest and then fill out the message that will pop up when you click “Add to Cart” to specify what customization you want. You can also use this message if you order multiple flowers and want certain flowers with specific stems. Requests that require additional work may increase the cost by a few dollars, which Lawless Upcycling will discuss with you before fulfilling the order.
Alternatively, if you want completely custom stems (as well as flowers and/or wooden bases), you can engage Lawless Upcycling for Custom Flower and Accessories services on the “Services” page, which starts with a free consultation.
